The AoK Journey to Employee Experience

AoK Consulting uses a four-step methodology to solve problems and build solutions for employee experience. This work often lies within the scope of HR, internal communications, organizational development and Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI).

Step 1: Empathetic Listening

If you’re nodding along and thinking, “yes! Of course!” then you are practicing active listening - and that’s not what I’m talking about here. Empathetic listening involves asking questions and clarifying interpretations of what is being said in order to truly understand another’s perspective and voice. These conversations serve to build trust and holistic understanding to ensure complete support in forming and executing a resulting strategy. This step is all about discovery, where we discuss and assess current status and ideal outcomes with necessary stakeholders. 

Step 2: Strategic Overview

Armed with anecdotal and empirical evidence, the overall strategy begins to take shape. This is the most mysterious step. Each listening tour uncovers different needs, so each strategy is built like a unique snowflake.

Step 3: Crucial Conversations

The proposed strategy is shared with identified leaders and stakeholders. Feedback in this stage is paramount to achieving long term success! With open lines of communication, the finalized solutions feel inclusive and authentic instead of prescribed and oppressive. This step’s purpose is to strengthen the team’s trust and engagement, ensuring all are on-board in the finalized strategy.

Step 4: Setting Up for Success

In this step, AoK will identify the order of operations, timeline, methodology, goals and accountability for each project defined / to be activated. With clear delegation and support from predetermined stakeholders, AoK will walk alongside the team’s successful implementation and long term aspirations.
